1916 July/2006 July: On the Western Front, Allenby became commander of the Third Army in 1915 and directed the ill-fated Gommecourt diversion at the Somme on July 1, 1916./
1917 January 8-9 In the Battle of Magruntein, British forces clear the Sinai Peninsula of all organized Turkish forces. Sir Archibald Murray is then authorized to begin a limited offensive into Palestine, where the Turks have established defensive positions along the ridges between Gaza and Beersheba, the two natural gateways to the region.
1917 March 11/2007 March 11: Revolution breaks out in Russia. + Maude's forces captured Baghdad. In March 1917, with his force securely established south of Gaza and supplied via rail from Egypt, Murray signalled to his superiors his intention to capture Gaza./

THE FIRST BATTLE OF GAZA
1917 March 26/2007 March 26: The First Battle of Gaza. For millennia the town of Gaza had been the gateway for armies travelling via the coastal route to and from Egypt and Palestine. Sir Archibald Murray, at Gaza in March and April 1917. March 26 An attack on Gaza. March 26 - World War I: Battle of Gaza - British cavalry troops retreat after 17,000 Turks block their advance. http://deltawing.htmlplanet.com/almanac/1917.html/. General Murray's report, however, presents this First Battle of Gaza as a British victory, and Murray is ordered to advance without delay to take Jerusalem.
1917 April 19/2007 April 19: On Thursday 19th April 1917 five men from Little Marlow died in the Second Battle of Gaza. Among those who died on 19th April 1917 were Owen Rogers, Joseph Summerfield, Leomard Southam, age 27, and Percy Twitchen, age 25. Owen Rogers, Leonard Southam and Percy Twitchen are commemorated on the Jerusalem Memorial, and Joseph Summerfield lies in the Gaza War Cemetery. The Second Baffle of Gaza was a costly failure. The attack in daylight across open ground against prepared positions gave the troops no chance, and it cost the Divisional Commander, General Murray, his job. The final toll for the Isle of Wight Rifles on April 19th 1917 was 8 officers and 186 men.

1917 June 27. This was to free him to take command of the Egyptian Expeditionary Force (27 June). then stalled in front of the Turkish defences of Gaza.
In March, 1917, our main body moved forward into Palestine. Gaza was attacked on March 26th, but though some of our cavalry worked round from the east and actually entered the city, our assault from the south failed. The army fell back a few miles, and again advanced upon Gaza on April 17th. This time the attack was delivered on a wider front.

1917 Stalin returns to Petrograd after the March Revolution had overthrown the monarchy.
1917 June General Lord Edmund Allenby takes command of the British Egyptian Expeditionary Force, which will soon take the war to the Turks in Palestine. 1917 June 27Allenby was sent to Egypt to be made commander-in-chief of the Egyptian Expeditionary Force (EEF) on June 27 1917. On June 27, 1917, General Edmund Allenby, formerly commander of the British Third Army in France, took over command from Murray. Dobell was removed but not replaced and Allenby assumed direct control over all future operations.

One of Allenby's first moves was to support the efforts of T. E. Lawrence amongst the Arabs with £200,000 a month.
One of his first acts on arriving in Cairo was to agree to provide T.E.Lawrence with £200,000 per month (later increased to £500,000) to fund the Arab revolt, which largely relied on British gold to maintain its momentum. Having studied his new command, he decided he needed reinforcements if he was to reach Jerusalem, and was promised the 10th Irish Division, then in Salonika (10 August), which arrived on 2 October. 1917 September 8-14 Kerensky puts down the conservative revolt led by General Kornilov and arrests the general. Kerensky quickly releases Trotsky and dozens of other terrorists from prison. (To Kornilov, the real enemy was socialism, personified by Kerensky. To Kerensky, the conservatives represented counterrevolution. Both factions despised and underrated Lenin because of his extremism.) (Sturdza)
1917 September Adolf Hitler receives the Cross of Merit, third class.

1917 October 9/2007 October 9: On the 9th October 1917, Thomas Dunn was killed at Poelcappelle, in the Ypres area, during what was the final engagement of the third Battle of Ypres, Passchendaele. After Thomas Dunn’s death a letter was sent by Captain C. R. R. Huxtable of the Royal Army Medical Corps. /

1917 October 22 Lenin secretly returns from Finland. After giving his instructions to the Bolsheviks at a secret session of the Bolshevik Central Committee, he once again goes into hiding.

1917 October 27/2007 October 27: Third Battle of Gaza, begun on 27 October, http://www.camulos.com/fordham/memorial.htm/. The first American soldier fires a shot in World War I. Allenby won the Third Battle of Gaza by surprising the defenders with an attack at Beersheba. From 28-31 October 1917, a 218 gun bombardment targeted Gaza, but when his attack came, on 31 October, it hit Beersheba, to the east of Gaza, which was captured on the first day, allowing an assault on Gaza. / RAPTURE 90 YEARS LATER!

1917 October 31 Allenby attacks in the Third Battle of Gaza (Battle of Beersheba). Allenby leaves three divisions demonstrating in front of Gaza and secretly moves against Beersheba. The surprise is complete, and an all-day battle culminates in a mounted charge at dusk by an Australian cavalry brigade over the Turkish wire and trenches into Beersheba itself, capturing the vital water supply.
1917 November 2 The Balfour Declaration - Arthur James Balfour, in a letter to Lord Walter Rothschild of England, affirms Britain's commitment to the establishment of a Jewish homeland in Palestine. November 2 - Zionism: The Balfour Declaration proclaims British support for Jewish settlement in Palestine. / 2014 September 26th.
1917 November 6 Allenby strikes north, launching the Desert Mounted Corps across the country toward the sea. The Turks evacuated Gaza in time to avoid the trap, but are closely pursued by Allenby. November 7 - World War I: Battle of Gaza ends - United Kingdom forces capture Gaza from the Ottoman Empire.
1917 November 13 General Allenby, closely pursuing the Turks, strikes again, driving them back to the north. Turning then toward Jerusalem, Allenby is detained by the appearance of Turkish reserves and the arrival of General von Falkenhayn, who reestablishes a front from the sea to Jerusalem.
1917 November 30 In France, Germans forces counterattack in the Cambrai salient. 1917 November 30 The U.S. Rainbow Division, commanded by Colonel Douglas McArthur and representing men from every state of the Union, lands in France.
1917 December 9 Jerusalem is occupied by Allenby's British cavalry. On 9 December 1917, Jerusalem surrendered to the British forces. Two days later General Allenby entered the Jaffa Gate on foot, at the head of a victory procession This act marked the end off our centuries of Ottotwn-Turk rule and the beginning of thirty years of British rule.
1918 October 26th/2008 October 26th: Damascus fell on 1 October, Aleppo, the last city to fall in the campaign, on 26 October. Five days later an armistice with the Ottoman Empire came into effect./ One year after Rapture.

In 1916 the Sinai Desert separated the British forces in Egypt and the Turks in Palestine. In January 1917 the British under Lieutenant-General Sir Archibald Murray advanced across Sinai, constructing a supply railway and a water pipeline. Murray’s objective was Palestine but after two unsuccessful attacks on Gaza he was replaced in June 1917 by General Sir Edmund Allenby. Allenby brought a greater vigour to the Army but, more importantly, he brought reinforcements at a time when Turkish strength was being whittled away by the Arab Revolt. By October 1917 the British outnumbered the Turks by two to one in infantry and eight to one in cavalry, in one of the few theatres of war where cavalry could still be used effectively. On 7 November 1917 Allenby took Gaza in a brilliant operation. To wrong-foot the Turks he made a feint towards Gaza before launching his main attack further east against Beersheba where his cavalry were particularly successful. The capture of Beersheba outflanked the Turks who were forced to retreat. Allenby pressed on, capturing Jaffa on 16 November and entering Jerusalem on 11 December.

Englantilainen kenraali Edmund Allenby toteutti syksyllä vuonna 1917 ihmeen Jerusalemin taivaalla, mikä saattoi olla ennekuvaa Jerusalemin valerauhasta ja seurakunnan ylösotosta ilmeisesti 90 vuotta myöhemmin!

TAIVAALLISEN JERUSALEMIN PORTEILLE
Turkkilaiset sotilaat olivat kauhuissaan, kun he näkivät ensi kerran elämässään lentokoneita ilmassa. He lukivat suurella mielenkiinnolla "taivaasta" tulleen sanoman, jossa "Allahin profeetta" määrää, että kaupungin on antauduttava. Kenraali Allenbyn nimi nimittäin muistuttaa arabian kielellä tuota sanaa. Ja niin kaupunki antautui, ilman että laukaustakaan ammuttiin, joulukuun 9. päivänä 1917. Siten toteutui tuo vanha ennustus kirjaimellisesti. Suomalainen käännös ennustuksesta on aivan heikko. Oikea käännös kuuluu: "Niin kuin lentävät linnut tulee Herra Sebaot (sotajoukkojen Jumala) varjelemaan Jerusalemia. Lentelemällä sen yläpuolella hän va 1916 kenraali Sir Edmund Allenby tukenaan juutalaisprikaati lähti kuitenkin Egyptistä etenemään Välimeren rantaa pohjoiseen. Sharif Husseinin pojat Ali ja Feisal - neuvonantajanaan T. E. Lawrence (Arabian Lawrence) - valloittivat puolestaan Aqaban ja etenivät itäisen aavikon reunaa aina Damaskokseen asti vuoteen 1918 mennessä.

AIKOJEN LOPPUJA

"Vuonna 1823 syvällisesti profeetalliseen Sanaan perehtynyt amerikkalainen John Ag.

Niinkuin minunkin sukuni vanhimmat elivät vuosisadan, vuosisadan taapertaa vuonna 1914 ennaltatiedetysti maailmansodasta alkanut sukukunta Messiaan näkyvään paluuseen. Joitakin poimintoja koskien vuosisataa:

506 BC One hundred years: from 506 to 606 and from 1914 to 2014. Isaac Newton: Papal State 754 AD + 1260 = 2014 1260-754=506.
1386 One hundred years before Luther was born, John Wyclif advocated the doctrinal reform of the church by the Word of God. 1486 Luther was born.
