Title: GOD HAS EVERYTHING UNDER CONTROL! Author: David Wilkerson GOD HAS EVERYTHING UNDER CONTROL! Yesterday, September 19, I stood at Ground Zero—just yards away from the burning rubble of the former Twin Towers. It looks like a devastated war zone: closed parking lots filled with unclaimed cars covered with inches of dirt and dust. Four other huge buildings that will have to come down. Blocks and blocks of shuttered businesses. Smashed cars and trucks bulldozed into piles. Rows of refrigerated trucks where rescue workers were bringing body parts for temporary storage. You can literally feel a frightful sense of judgment as you walk through such indescribable destruction and death. Our ministry was one of the first on the scene, right at the site. Our workers were there night and day, alongside the Red Cross, supplying food, water and essential supplies to the police, firemen and volunteers. So far we have knowledge of only one lost—the son of one of our staff members. We have heard incredible testimonies of deliverance by our congregation. Yesterday, standing before the smoldering five-story-high pile of rubble, I cried inwardly, “Oh Lord, if every American could stand here and behold this awful destruction, they could come to the only possible conclusion: God is warning this nation to repent.” Times Square Church was forewarned a calamity was coming weeks before it happened. A month prior, our leadership was impressed by the Holy Spirit to cancel all special speakers and scheduled meetings. We cancelled our missions convention and city-wide youth rallies. We shut things down and called the congregation to prayer. We have experienced an unusual visitation of the Holy Spirit as a result. The Holy Spirit suddenly moved in and a holy quiet fell on the house. On one occasion, we sat in total silence for over one hour. People speak in hushed tones. There was soft weeping, with people coming forward and kneeling, reaching out to the Lord. These are the manifestations of a Holy Ghost visitation: a holy, awesome silence, and weeping and fervent prayer in every service. The Holy Spirit revealed to us that the divine silence in our meetings was a preparation for the trying times ahead. We are thankful for all the prayers and loving inquiries about our safety. Also, many thanks to those who are standing with us with their financial help at this trying time. God bless and keep us all in his love and grace. His bondservant, DAVID WILKERSON
